3-D HIFU (High Intensity Focused Ultrasound)
Non-Surgical skin lifting and body contouring with 3 D HIFU is the latest non-surgical alternative.
HIFU Skin tightening and Body contouring – how does it work?
The HIFU face lift uses highly focused acoustic energy to create thermal coagulation zones at 3 different selected depths which is causing a wound healing response resulting in the formation of new collagen. The tissue at these target points is heated to 65 degrees centigrade which create spaced ‘wounds’ or cones of heat and cellular friction. The process promotes healing, immediate contraction and collagen stimulation through fibroblast activity.
The SMAS layer (Superficial muscular aponeurotic system) is the layer which the muscles of the face and the soft tissue attach. During cosmetic surgery a portion of this SMAS is removed and then reattached to give a longer lasting result than the traditional skin tightening facelift. The SMAS is the section of the skin treated with HIFU to give a longer lasting tightening effect as a result of the non-surgical treatment.
More about HIFU:
It targets individually Brow lifting, Jowl line lifting, Nasolabial fold reduction, Periorbital wrinkle reduction and overall Skin tightening and rejuvenation. Body contouring: we offer this treatment in conjunction with our Fat Freezing treatment for correction of skin laxities. Individual assessment for both treatments are important. We see HIFU mostly as a supporting procedure to Botox and Filler (= Injectables) treatment.
The highly focused acoustic energy creates thermal coagulation zones at 3 different selected depths following which a wound healing response results in the formation of new collagen thus providing a longer term tightening of the skin.
Generally a noticeable improvement in facial contouring and fine lines and wrinkles will be visible within a 4 week period whilst further improvement in facial skin tightening and wrinkles will be reportedly seen up to 6 weeks.
